Electronic Billing AdvantagesElectronic Billing is only one of the great features of SimpleIsUs software. But for most early intervention providers of direct services or agencies, it could be the most important one. With electronic bill submission, you can receive payment within 7 days. It not only reduces reimbursement time, it virtually reduces your billing tasks to minutes, regardless of the number of clients. Electronic billing (also called Electronic Data Interchange or “EDI”) also eliminates costs associated with paper claims, such as CMS-1500 forms, printing ink, envelopes, and postage. Using a Clearinghouses for Electronic BillingWhen using SimpleIsUs, you will submit your electronic claims through a clearinghouse. Using a clearinghouse relieves you of extensive testing and excessive time to start billing electronically. The clearinghouse assumes the responsibility to test your electronic billing claims with the payor (i.e. Medicaid). FreeClaims is our clearinghouse and we have conducted all upfront programming and testing with them and the payors. SimpleIsUs makes your transition to electronic billing seamless. From the time you upload your first batched claims (test batch to FreeClaims), to the time your claims go into production (submitted electronically to the payor) can be less than an hour but rarely more than 24 hours. After the initial submission (test), all subsequent electronic submissions to FreeClaims, and on to the payor, happen instantaneously. You can get a weekly electronic remittance advice (ERA) on line at the FreeClaims site to keep you posted on your reimbursements. When you submit billing electronically, and a claim is denied, you will know immediately via the ERA. There is no hassle, no waiting, no further delays for payment. You simply pull up the claim on the FreeClaims site, correct it on line, and resubmit it back to the payor. Or, if you notice an error at the initial time of submission, you can correct the claim and send it on its way. Complete EDI forms and get approved to submit Billing ElectronicallyBefore you can submit billing electronically, you must complete EDI forms and be approved. All forms and instruction for completing the forms are on the Member’s site and are available to print out once you become a member of SimpleIsUs. It normally takes 4-5 weeks for you to be approved to submit billing electronically. HIPAA CompliantWhether you are an independent provider, agency provider or an agency, SimpleIsUs ensures that your client information and billing claims are secure and HIPAA compliant. As an independent provider, you submit your billing directly to FreeClaims. As an Agency, your providers upload their billing to our secure web site. From the secure site, you (the agency) will download each provider’s billing to your computer, batch the claims together, and then submit all the providers billing electronically to FreeClaims. SimpleIsUs eliminates all paper work associated with billing while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Private Practice and Early Intervention ServicesIf you are an Agency that does both Private Practice and Early Intervention services, we can arrange an electronic billing solution to handle both practices. This arrangement could greatly reduce the cost of billing for your Early Intervention services over contracting all of your billing out to a billing agent. You will have one contract for both services with a billing solutions group. They bill your Private Practices at their normal contract fee/rate and bill your Early Intervention Practice for only the subscription fees to SimpleIsUs and the Agency Management Tool.
